Everyone deserves a home

In the Khmelnytskyi region of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia supported the establishment of a foster home for ten internally displaced children who lost their families and homes as a result of Russia’s military aggression.
In partnership with the largest commercial television station in Slovenia POP TV, the Anita Ogulin Association, and the Association of Friends of Youth (ZPM), a modern, energy-efficient family home with a total area of approximately 300 m² was built and fully equipped.
The house provides a safe, warm, and inclusive environment, featuring energy-efficient systems for heating, lighting, and insulation, and includes a shelter space offering protection in the event of attacks.
It stands as a symbol of solidarity, compassion, and shared responsibility, showing that Slovenia – though small in size – can make a profound difference through meaningful humanitarian action.
“This house is more than a building – it’s a home, a shelter, and a symbol of shared humanity,” said a CMSR representative at the inauguration ceremony held in Medzhybizh, which was attended by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Ms. Tanja Fajon, representatives of donors, and project partners.
The project demonstrates how solidarity, partnership, and concrete action can transform lives — offering children not only a roof over their heads, but also hope, stability, and a sense of belonging.
