During their visit to North Macedonia, the management of CMSR met with the management of the public company Hidrosistem Zletovica.
Director Stojanovski expressed his gratitude for the financial support of the Republic of Slovenia in co-financing the project "Reconstruction and Modernisation of the Zletovica Hydrosystem" and for the good cooperation between the two countries, which enabled an uninterrupted supply of quality drinking water to more than 100,000 inhabitants of many surrounding municipalities.
The Zletovica multipurpose Hydrosystem consists of numerous facilities for water supply, irrigation and electricity production. The basic purpose of HS Zletovica is watter supply of 100.000 inhabitants of the municipalities of Štip, Sveti Nikola, Lozovo and Karabinci. Due to obsolete and wasteful equipment, both mechanical and electronic, the entire operation of the hydro system was endangered, along with the quality of water supply in municipalities and the safety of using the Kneževo dam. As part of the project, the reconstruction and upgrade of the HS Zletovica system were being implemented with all the necessary electronic and hydro-mechanical equipment for the efficient operation of the system. Reconstruction and upgrading ensure the safe and efficient operation of HS Zletovica, which enables the uninterrupted supply of quality drinking water for the inhabitants of these municipalities. During heavy rains, the safety of residents living along the Zletovica River will also increase.
