Moral obligation of the Republic of Slovenia towards Ukraine and its inhabitants

We are continuing our work, this time in Ukraine.

Director of the CMSR, Dejan Prešiček together with Mateja Prevolšek, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Ukraine, and Ambassador Tomaž Mencin, in charge of the reconstruction of Ukraine to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, met with Ukrainian partners of the Ministry of Reconstruction in Kyiv. During a multi-day visit, they discussed possible international development cooperation projects which could be implemented in Ukraine.

Together with the Olena Zelenska Foundation they were were looking for various possibilities of building a home for foster families in the Kharkov region, which is only 30 km away from the Russian border. More than 80 foster families, while caring for orphans, namely lost their homes in the war.

Slovenia is aware of its moral obligation and will do its best to assist Ukraine on its path of reconstruction.
